Similarities
The War of 1812 and The Revolutionary War were two bloody wars fought by two people of different uniforms. So what are the real similarities, well both of these wars' had three major resemblances with a couple smaller likenesses. The first one was that the same two factions were fighting them, Britain and America. The second was freedom, America was again pitted with the challenge of demonstrating their liberties in the War of 1812. The third, well land of course, Britain was again fighting for land and dominance just like the Revolutionary War. The other ones were that both were fought on the defense by America and that both were the defeat of Britain.

Differences
There are three notable differences of the War of 1812 and The Revolutionary War. One, the British had help this time. The British had influenced the Native Americans to rebel against there neighbor. Two, America had naval capabilities. In the Revolutionary War, America depended on Spain and France for naval confrontations. Three, first strike, America landed the first punch by trying invading Canada(Under British Rule) instead of vice versa .
